If you are like me, you’re probably not the biggest shopper but you want to know what you should get if you are just starting to play guitar. Picking a guitar if you do not know what to look for can be pretty intimidating, because it is an investment, and if you’re not careful an expensive one at that. You not only are investing your money into an instrument but you want it to be something that you are going to be able to learn how to play on.
To tell you the truth there really is not anything you should be looking at when you are choosing your first guitar. Personally, I feel that if you are a younger kid it is better to learn on electric. This is because the strings are easier to push down on the fret board. However if you are 16 and older I would try an acoustic. This is because if you can play on an acoustic you will be able to play on anything.
That’s great, but what kind of guitar specifications should you be looking for?
Nothing really. You simply are just looking for a basic guitar that works. I guess you can look for a durable guitar. You don’t want to spend so much money on a guitar when you do not know how to play one yet. Play a year or two on your first cheap guitar and learn how to play on that. Then when you are a more advanced guitar player you will appreciate your more expensive guitar more, along with benefit from it more.
